Thermal transfer ribbons are generally classified into three main categories: wax, wax-resin, and resin.
There are various qualities within each of these categories. Each of these qualities has unique characteristics and may serve a different purpose: for example, one quality may be better suited for printing on specific substrates or for specific applications / industries.
